Prince of Persia is a recreation of the game with the same name that was released for platforms years ago, and at the time it was known for redefining visual graphics in the video game world. This version for the Android mobile platform is an excellent port of that game, and it has been updated slightly to keep up with the times.

The goal of the game is fairly basic, but that doesn't detract from the fun gameplay. Your goal is to save the princess from an evil king who is keeping her prisoner in a tower, and you'll have to solve puzzles, travel through cavernous environments, and destroy enemies to reach the end.

This version of the game is nearly identical to the original game, so it has a lot of nostalgia that will certainly be a big seller for modern gamers. The game is quite long considering it has been ported to a mobile system, and it provides hours of entertaining fun. It has three distinct game modes to keep the player interested, and those are Survival, Timed, and Standard. Survival is possibly the most challenging mode since it only gives the player one life and just half an hour to rescue the princess and defeat the evil king. The Standard mode is the most common and includes multiple lives and no time limit. The Timed mode is like the Standard mode, but with an element of urgency thanks to the timer.

One things that players will instantly recognize is that the graphics in this version have been given a huge boost in quality from the original version. The fact that a simple port of this nature can be updated to that level with little difficulty just goes to show how much the video game industry has grown in the recent years. The physics are actually more realistic in this game than in the original, despite the physics being one of the main selling points of that older game. The backgrounds in the updated version are also more detailed, and the animations are smoother.

Since this is a game for touchscreen platforms, the controls had to be ported as well, so the creators added a digital directional pad to the touchscreen as well as three distinct buttons to control different actions like running, crouching, or jumping. The controls are a bit sloppy and difficult to manage at times, which is something to be expected for a mobile port of a game that was based on a joystick. This is a bit serious for those who get easily frustrated when a game doesn't read the proper controls from the player.

Despite the few flaws in the controls, this game is definitely worth playing, especially for those who enjoyed the original when it was first released. This classic game is one of the most popular adventure titles in the world, and it is sure to provide hours of entertainment.
